The Yorkshire Football Forums
Hello and welcome to THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE.

This forum was set up on the 5th of September 2009 in order to give Yorkshire football fans a place to come and interact with fellow fans of all 10 league clubs in our county.

We operate a controlled environment, with each team having their own forum and moderator, to ensure everyone has equal rights. The main reason this forum was set up, was to allow its members the freedom to express themselves without the restraints some other 'multi-club' forums adopt.

However, abuse of other members will not be tolerated. Please keep discussions civil. If you are not prepared to behave appropiately, please don't register. Friendly banter between rival clubs is encouraged, personal abuse towards other members will result in a permanent ban.

Some sections of this forum are restricted to members, so to enjoy the full benefits of the site please register. Registered users also enjoy this website without the advertisements at the top of the page.

THANK YOU for visiting THE PRIDE OF YORKSHIRE and we hope to see you posting here in the future.

Championship relegation battle - Yorkshire clubs

Post by Barnsley-James on Mon 19 Nov - 3:13:15

Just seen that Leeds have lost again, today at Millwall. Looking at the Championship table, it's now looking a bit nervy for Barnsley, Sheff Wednesday and Leeds. Still early days but as it stands:

Leeds United
Played: 17
Won: 5
Drawn: 5
Lost: 7
Points: 20
Goal Difference: -6

Current position: 18th

Barnsley
Played: 17
Won: 4
Drawn: 4
Lost: 9
Points: 16
Goal Difference: -9

Current position: 20th

Sheffield Wednesday
Played: 17
Won: 4
Drawn: 3
Lost: 10
Points: 15
Goal Difference: -9

Current position: 21st

We just need Ipswich, Bristol and Peterborough to keep losing and us Yorkshire lot should be fine but there is still a long way to go yet. Worrying times!

True James , apart from Boro' (who you have forgetten) footy in Yorkshire is pretty grim at present. However things are looking better for our Div 1/2 clubs.
It might be a very long time until a Yorkshire club takes it's place once again in the top flight.
I see the Dingles as being now better prepared to stave off relegation than the other 2 clubs however now that Craig Davies is back from injury. This should cheer you up no end ..........keep scrapping we want to play you next season in tier 2 ok ?

Yep - but if Davies goes in January (likely), we are stuffed.

On the other hand, you and the Blunts could wait down there in League One for us...Rotherham get promoted and we'll have loads of local derbies Smile

Then you need to ''bank'' some points up over the next 8-10 games before Davies is inevitably snapped up by the big fish to bench warm.
As for us , should you get demoted I hope we're not waiting for you but you will still be able to play the Wendies and Rovrum. lol!

Incidentally where the hell has NIGHTMARE gone ...........I'm missing him ? Sad Sad Sad

Two defeats at the weekend for Barnsley and Wednesday....Barnsley stay in 20th, Wednesday slip into the bottom 3.

When the 2 sides meet next month, that really is a MASSIVE (lols) game!

Update

16. Birmingham City (38 points)
17. Bolton Wanderers (37 points)
18. Huddersfield Town (37 points)
19. Sheffield Wednesday (36 points)
20. Ipswich Town (35 points)
21. Wolverhampton Wanderers (34 points)
---------------------------------------------------------
22. Barnsley (34 points)
23. Bristol City (31 points)
24. Peterborough United (30 points)

Wolves, Ipswich, Bolton and Huddersfield must be looking over their shoulders as SWFC, Barnsley, Bristol and Peterborough are the division's form teams at the moment.
Funny division this year - no team is cut adrift at the bottom.

Can Barnsley and SWFC pull off the great escape and stay up??
